African Capital Cities Sustainability Forum Speakers

Lindiwe Mazibuko
Lindiwe Mazibuko is a public leader, speaker, writer and academic fellow. She was the first black woman in South African history to be elected leader of the opposition in parliament. During her term in office, Mazibuko successfully held the ruling African National Congress (ANC) accountable for its record in national government by bringing issues as diverse as clean government, youth unemployment, LGBTI rights, constitutionalism and gender equality to the floor of the Assembly.

Cllr Tshepiso Solly Msimanga
Tshepiso Solly Msimanga was elected unopposed as the Executive Mayor of Tshwane on Friday, 19 August 2016 at the inaugural sitting of the City of Tshwane Council. Solly holds a National Diploma in Marketing Management as well as a BCompt from the University of Pretoria. He is also a graduate of the Democratic Alliance Young Leaders Academy. He was a PR councillor and the Caucus Chairperson in the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality between 2011 and 2014. He is also the Democratic Alliances chairperson in Gauteng.

Mr Radebe is serving currently serving as the Minister of Energy, having previously served as a Minister in the Presidency: Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation. He was born 18 February 1953 and holds a B.Juris degree from the University of Zululand.

Krish Kumar has been Chief Financial Officer of the eThekwini Municipality since 2001. Krish commenced work as a Trainee Accountant with the Durban City Council in 1981 and progressed through the ranks to become City Treasurer of the North and South Central Local Councils in 1997. In 1999 he was appointed City Treasurer of the Durban Metropolitan Council and in 2001 Deputy City Manager (CFO): Finance, a position which he still holds today.
